What we install

Signs it may be time to replace

  • Repairs every season

When the same system needs a repair each spring and fall, the costs start to add up to a new one.

  • An older refrigerant

Systems built for R-22 are expensive to recharge, since that refrigerant is no longer made.

  • Rooms never comfortable

Hot upstairs, cold downstairs or constant running can mean the system is the wrong size for the house.

  • Bills keep climbing

An older, less efficient system uses more energy to do the same work every year.

We tell you when it’s not time

Even with the right maintenance, heating and cooling systems only last so long. But most can be kept running another few years with the right repair, and we’ll tell you when that’s the better deal. Customers call us for a second opinion because we’d rather fix what you have than sell you something you don’t need.

Sized for your house

The right system depends on the house: its size, insulation, ductwork or lack of it, and how you use each floor. A system that’s too big turns on and off constantly; one that’s too small never catches up. We look at all of it during the free in-home estimate and walk you through energy-efficient options for every home and budget.

Every install comes with

  • Full factory warranties on the equipment
  • A clear price before any work starts
  • Next-day installation in most cases
  • 0% financing on approved credit

Water heaters

We install and replace tank water heaters too. A new one is sized to how much hot water your household uses, not just copied from the old tank. In many older houses the water heater shares a chimney with the furnace or boiler, so when either one is replaced we check that the venting still works for the appliance left behind.

Whole-home generators

A gas furnace or boiler still needs electricity to run its controls and blower, so a power outage in January can mean no heat. A standby generator starts on its own when the power drops and keeps the heating, the sump pump and the refrigerator running. We install whole-home generators and service them, so they’re ready when the next storm comes through.

Permits and rebates

Replacing heating or cooling equipment needs a permit, and in straddled towns like Bryn Mawr the right office depends on which township your house is in. We sort out which one applies. PECO rebates can take some of the cost off qualifying ENERGY STAR equipment; we check the current amounts when we quote.

What customers say

4.9 stars from 300+ Google reviews.

We troubleshoot first.

Saki of SK Heating and Air Conditioning has been servicing my HVAC system for the past 4-5 years. He is always prompt, neat, polite, and professional and I really like the convenience of communicating by text. One thing that sets SK apart from other service companies is that he has never attempted to sell me anything I didn’t need. I can’t recommend Saki enough.

Kay G., customer for 4+ years

A second opinion that paid off.

SK is my go to! Very responsive and trustworthy. I originally called SK to get a second opinion after getting an astronomical quote elsewhere. He fixed the issue for less than half of what I was quoted and I’ve had no issues ever since! Will always use him for seasonal maintenance and any issues going forward!

Kiley B., second opinion

Trusted for over a decade.

I have been working with SK Heating for upwards of a decade. They handle all of my rental properties and my personal house as well. They are 100% reliable and very reasonably priced. With other hvac companies I’ve felt like I was being up-sold but I have never experienced anything near that with SK. I whole heartedly recommend them to any owner or investor!

New system installation questions

How fast can you install a new system?

Usually the next day. After the free in-home estimate, we schedule the install as soon as you decide, and we’ll tell you up front if a particular system needs longer to arrive.

How much does a new system cost?

It depends on the house, the system type and what’s already there, which is why the estimate is free and in person. We show you options for different budgets, and 0% financing is available on approved credit.

Do I need a permit to replace my furnace or AC?

Yes. Pennsylvania requires a permit to replace heating and cooling equipment, and townships like Lower Merion and Radnor require it for AC replacement too. In an emergency the equipment can go in first as long as the permit application follows within three business days.

Do you install water heaters?

Yes, we install and replace tank water heaters. We size the new one to how much hot water your household uses, and when it shares a chimney with an older furnace or boiler, we check the venting before either one is replaced. We don’t repair water heaters or install tankless units.

Do you install whole-home generators?

Yes. We install standby generators that start on their own when the power goes out, so the furnace or boiler, the sump pump and the refrigerator keep running, and we service them too.

Are there rebates on a new system?

PECO offers rebates on qualifying ENERGY STAR equipment. As of September 2026 that’s up to $300 on an air source heat pump and up to $200 on central AC. PECO lowers its gas rebates from October 1st, 2026, and the federal 25C tax credit ended with 2025.
